Our trees offer excellent needle retention and should easily last throughout the festive season, looming and smelling great. After this they will need to be disposed of or mulched.
Bringing the tree in from the cold to a warm room can cause trauma to the tree and make it shed it’s needles. It’s always a good idea to let the tree acclimatise by leaving in in your garage or a cooler room for a day or two if you possibly can.
We usually only sell to individuals but fee free to get in touch here if you would like to talk to us.
As trees are naturally grown they are all slightly different. As a general rule of thumb they are likely to be around half as wide as they are tall so most 6ft tall trees will be around 3ft wide.
Thankfully things are better these days! We use Nordman and Fraser Firs and they have been specially bred to retain their needles for much longer than trees were in the past.
No, our trees are cut where the trunk meets the ground.
No, you will have to provide your own.
After the festive period you can simply chop your tree up and put it in your compost bin where it will gradually degrade and can then be used to keep your garden healthy. If you have a wood burner you can burn it or you can simply chop it into pieces and put it in your garden waste bin as you would with grass and plant cuttings.
We aim to deliver most trees from the start of December. We deliver them no more than two days after they are cut so that you get them as fresh as possible. They should easily last 5 weeks.
They are covered in netting which effectively protects the branches. We advise that you cut once inch off the base with a saw and put it in a bucket of water. Think of a tree as you would with cut flowers from the florist. It will last much longer if you don’t let it dry out. Most tress will require 2-4 litres of water per day so keep an eye on your water levels.
Try to keep the tree away from direct sources of heat such as an open fire. Corners are best as it’s less likely to get knocked or bumped. Although our trees have excellent needle drop characteristics is always best to avoid excessively high temperatures.
